Here is a list of the most eagerly awaited Hindi movies of 2013, listed here in no particular order. All Hindi cinema buffs watch out for these titles this year:
Most Eagerly Awaited Hindi Movies of 2013
- Race 2
Race 1 had all the edge-of-the-seat excitement and twists which you expect out of a typical Abbas-Mastan movie. We hope this one starring Saif Khan, Anil Kapoor, John Abraham and Deepika Padukone lives up to the high hopes every one has from it.
The first one was amongst the biggest hits Chhote Nawab has had till date. Let’s see if his lucky run continues (if I am not mistaken) with his first release after his marriage to the gorgeous Bebo.
Having been released already in the end of January, this is already one of the first major releases this year. Creating ripples across the Box office already.
- Dhoom 3
The first two movies of the series have already been runaway hits and loved by the audiences. With this one featuring Aamir Khan in a negative role for the first time, we hope the queues at the box office will get longer. Also starring in this one are Katrina Kaif and a fine actor whom we’ve not see much of late- the dashing Junior B. Joining them in action here will be Uday Chopra and Katrina Kaif. Definitely a top contender in this compilation of most eagerly anticipated Hindi movies of 2013.
You will have to wait for a long time though, because Yash Raj Films have announced its release on Christmas. Bipasha also sizzles in a special appearance!
- Once upon a time in Mumbai 2
Milan Luthria did a wonderful job in the first movie which had good music, wonderful performances and a superb story line loosely inspired by the don of the yester years, Haji Mastan.
With Akshay Kumar featuring as a mafia don (none other than Dawood Ibrahim) this time, I am already dying to watch it. Imran Khan, Sonali Bendre and Sonakshi Sinha will also be seen in this eagerly awaited movies of 2013.
- Krish 3
With Papa Rakesh Roshan directing and the blessed-with-Greek-God-looks Hrithik Roshan in the male lead, this is definitely a release all Hindi movie buffs should watch out for in this year. Co-starring this time with Hrithik this time are Priyanka Chopra (again!), Vivek Oberoi and Rajpal Yadav.
Though slated for a Diwali release, this one promises to be BIG too- just like the previous home productions of Hrithik.
- Himmatwala 2
If you ask me, I didn’t really like the Jeetendra-Sridevi starrer as a school kid. But then, that didn’t stop the movie from being one of the biggest box office hits of its time.
Let’s see if Sajid Nadiadwala can do the same this time. With Ajay Devgan as the Himmatwala this time and newcomer Tamanna Bhatia as his lady love, critics are looking forward to this movie.
Though his previous 2 movies, Son of Sardar and Bol Bachchan, have both been 100 crore plus movies, Ajay is looking for a bigger hit. With Sajid has going on record to promise that this movie will be “the baap of all entertainers”, Ajay is keeping his fingers crossed.
- Bhaag Milkha Bhaag
Inspired by the famous Indian sprinter Milkha singh and starring Farhan Akhtar (who is looking soooo cute as a sardar in the leaked images and videos we have seen till now), this is another eagerly awaited Hindi films of 2013.
Let us hope that this movie about the Flying Sikh is as beautifully told as that of Paan Singh Tomar.
- Golmaal 4
Directed by Rohit Shetty, this one promises to be another action packed comedy which you can watch with your whole family.
Starring K3 (Kareena Kapoor Khan), Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi and Johnny Lever, this movie will be loved by all who want to leave their brains behind as they see cars flying!
- Yeh Jawaani hai Deewani
This Karan Johar movie featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone together after the first time after their much talked about break up promises to be one of the eagerly anticipated Hindi films of 2013.
Ranbir has been on a roll since Rockstar, Raajneeti and Barfi while Deepika is a style icon and a crowd puller in her own right. Let’s see how the movie does at the box office in May!
- Shootout at Wadala
This Ekta Kapoor production is based on a real life incident. Mumbai police registered its first ever encounter in November, 1982 and this movie is based on that.
With John Abraham playing a gangster and Anil Kapoor in a major role, this movie has all that it takes to make a big grosser! Those who loved Shootout at Lokhandwala inspite of the gory violence will surely love this one. it is being directed by Sanjay Gupta. (If you have difficulty recalling that name, let me tell you it is the same guy who directed Zinda in 2007).
This Abhinav Kashyap starrer brings together the entire Ranbir family together. We will get to see Papa Rishi Kapoor, Mama Neetu Singh and Ranbir Kapoor together along with Pallavi Sharda. This one has all the makings of a multi crore blockbuster, making it one of the eagerly awaited Hindi movies of 2013.
Slated for an October release, it will feature the handsome Kapoor boy as a tapori this time. We loved him as a dumb-o in Barfi. Aren’t we dying to see him as a tapori this time?
- Ek Thi Daayan
Emraan Hashmi will be surrounded by 3 beautiful ladies (Konkona Sen Sharma, Kalki Koechlin and Huma ureshi) in this movie which might get released in April. An Ekta Kapoor production, this is a horror film. Like any of Emraan’s previous movies, we can assure you oodles of oomph!!
A good music score and the star studded cast besides the fact that it as an Ekta Kapoor production makes it one of the most eagerly anticipated movies of 2013.
The list could go on and on with movies like Aashiqui 2, Special 26, Chennai Express, Lootera, Ram leela, David, Satyagraha, Zanjeer remake, Inkaar and Happy new year also on the floor.
Let us see how many of the movies which we found worthy of a mention on this list of most eagerly anticipated Hindi movies of 2013 goes on to shatter all previous records.
