Women Who Give Birth To Girls Live Longer, Proves Study
7While there are some countries and cultures in our world where the birth of a son is celebrated and that of a girl looked down upon (if not mourned), science has come up with evidence to support the fact that bearing and rearing sons is more stressful for mothers and can therefore shorten the lifespan of women considerably.
Lifespan of Women Shortened Due to Giving Birth to Sons
Lesser developed countries, particularly, are deeply biased against girls and gender discrimination is common.
Studies in the past had also pointed out to the biological fact (that has long been established) that since most boys are born heavier than girls, giving birth to sons takes a greater physical toll on the mothers’ bodies s compared to girls.
Not only that, the testosterone levels in mothers’ bodies also undergo a sharper increase when they produce sons which, in the long run, weakens the immune system of the body and makes them more prone to diseases and illnesses.
Boys are also more demanding after they step out of the womb. Their needs are much more as compared to girls who, on the contrary, help mothers with physical chores like helping with the housework, taking care of other siblings, etc and thus help to prolong their moms’ lives.
In this latest series of studies conducted across Finland, it was observed that the lifespan of mothers in particular was affected drastically due to giving birth to sons while fathers were not as badly affected.
“Our results provide evidence that Finnish mothers traded long post-reproductive lifespan for giving birth to many sons,” Dr Samuli Helle, of the University of Turku, said.
The results of the study also pointed that the rate of survival among women also rose sharply if they gave birth to MORE sons, irrespective of their socio-economic status though this also had a strong correlation with the age t which they gave birth to sons.
Or in other words, the survival costs of the number of sons born decreased linearly as women aged.
The number of daughters borne by a woman, on the other hand, had no bearing with her lifespan, regardless of the socio-economic class to which they belong and their age.
What came as a surprise was that neither sons nor daughters made any difference to their fathers’ life, lifestyle and lifespan!!
So much for the desire to give birth to sons!!!
This is a tribute to all mothers who bring up their daughters with love.
And a request to all sons who are reading this to RESPECT their mothers for having brought them into this world!!

Lovely stuff here, really enjoyed the read, so boys cause problems to their mothers huh
I have two sons myself. What do I say to that??
If this is true, then it looks like my wife is going to live longer than me.
Good for me – I have two daughters and no sons!!
